RICE BOMB

In just a few short weeks, I will be reaching the 8 month mark on being free of soy, dairy, and grain. (I also do not eat meat or take in alcohol, but those reasons are very different blogs LOL) Yes, I am a walking fruit & vegetable medley. I have never felt more focused, fit, energized, and relaxed. My body is a clean vessel for passing energy, both receiving and manifesting. Last night, I felt terrible. My body was all achy and I actually had a headache. Super we ird and out of character. I was unsure why, but blew it off best I could, and went to sleep before the sun was fully down. I rose from bed this morning, busted out my morning fitness routine, and took a shower after lunch. Before stepping into the tub I couldn't help but catch a slight glimpse of my nakey-self. I paused...how incredibly swollen i appeared! Bloated all around. And then it hit me! Light a light bulb drawn above my head as if I were a cartoon. I quickly ran downstairs and reached for the ONLY new thi...

WHEN GOD GETS IN YOUR FACE

Earlier in the week I wrote a blog called "Re-Thinking" it. Even though it is typical of me to blog each morning as such, this blog was not that typical. My energy was depleted and my vibe was low. I was starring at a cross-road in life and feeling slightly bogged down by the latest curve balls. I sat with that space for the remainder of this week...until today, when God reminded me exactly what I have started on this Earth. Last night I woke up, startled, after a dream I can still barely remember. My Nanny was there, so was Julitto's Dad, and I am pretty sure my Grandpa as well. All beautiful souls that have left this realm too soon. In this dream I was holding Cloey and they were all reminding me how they are acting as my spirit guides. That was it. Little substance, but a powerful message. I woke suddenly and in my half asleep state, realized my entire room smelled of Cloey. I tried to keep my eyes open, but ended up passing back out. This mor...

RE-THINKING IT

I love being an entrepreneur. I loved it especially up in New York. Becoming a little mini fitness guru was the easiest and most rewarding career to date. It was so exciting to move South and take that to the next level by incorporating more of what I was truly passionate about; Wellness. I dove head first into the world of Eastern medicine and absorbed as much as I could, while also invoking many of my natural abilities. Reiki and Life Coaching became a beauti ful addition to teaching women to Dance during Hip Hop Cardio Classes. Mind, Body, and Soul. A career all by itself! Sadly, the entrepreneur life has me feeling stuck and frustrated. I often feel as if I am spending more time convincing other's rather than inviting. I've even caught myself defending my own belief system against those who saw Reiki as anti-religious. I am not a pusher or a born sales-man. I do not wish to force things onto others. In fact, that way of being saddens my spirit. I believe in connectivi...

MY DAD, THE SPIRITUAL WARRIOR

The other night I received that daily call from my father with all the newest updates on Mom. We are beyond excited that her radiation treatments have ended and she is recovering nicely inside the comforts of a rehab center. Our fingers are crossed she will get to make it home once more. While he spoke, I listened intensely, wondering how the conversation would go. See, despite the unbelievable progress my Mother is making because of her own strength and inner warrior, the reality is that the multi-layers of cancer throughout her body make the situation undeniably terminal. It would be easy for a man in his early 60's to indulge in anger, hate, frustration, and sorrow. And naturally, I would be a fool to think those feelings do not exist somewhere inside him, because, well, right now they all exist a little inside of all of us. Every member of this family. But it is not what we feel, it is where we choose to put our focus. As a family unit, our faith in God is strong. Although stu...

THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE

Last night, after an intense conversation with the love of my life, I got to pondering about the concept of "feeling." We feel stuff all the time. But how many of us actually truly FEEL it? We live in a modern day society were prescriptions are handed out by Western medicine faster than a sneeze and illegal street drugs are now sold via internet! Take this for depression, this for anxiety, this for your aliment, take this for that and that for this, swallow, snort, inject.....Oh my. Am I judging? No. I am applying discernment. Simply observing not just those around me, but taking an even closer look at myself. Am I too quick to find a way out of the dark? It is common for me to run from anything negative that runs through my body. I read Self Help books, blog, exercise, meditate, and apply Eastern medicines such as Reiki in my routines. There are moments I pat myself on the back for the ability and strength to find such healthy coping mechanisms, but then again, maybe...just ...

AM I A BLOGGER?

Last December, I took my love of writing and my love of Facebook and melted them together to create the fusion that is SOL7. My SOL7 Facebook page consists of small morning blogs that I type up over the course of sipping my iced coffee. Am I a writer? Probably not. However, the reason that the Facebook page has taken off and these posts are so popular is more about HOW I live my life, then how I actually describe it. In one year I have moved 1,000 miles from everything I know with a very new (and 8 years younger!) boyfriend, I lived in a tent for 4 months, got married, and now work in a super strict military town as a Reiki Practitioner. Yes, I am that gypsy-hippie-Earth-loving-flower-child that lives on fruits and veggies and often makes her family crazy with worry. I have bathed in rivers and slept on sand. I attend drum circles regularly, and just created my first 6-week Life Coaching program after receiving my certification. I am not traditional, but I am probably one of the most a...
