A CAPTURED MOMENT

The photo below is one I contemplated to post or not to post. The truth is, I really wanted to blog about this moment in time. My mother always encouraged my writing and I base all my blogs off authentic, raw, truth. So my deepest apologies to those who feel this picture is just "too much." Please know that I mean no disrespect. At the time it was taken, we actually had no idea. A girlfriend of mine saw an opportunity to catch something...and she was right. My mother's favorite moments were those moments she got to catch Nicole and I simply being sisters. With an almost 7 year ago gap it was easy for my big sis to sometimes take on the role as another parental figure. But every so often, we would connect on the same level. Sisters. Today our personality differences list by the mile and our lives are Ying Yang, but the love that is there is very real and no matter what, we got each other's back. My mother would glow when she got to see those moments. It lit her...

THROGS NECK BRIDGE

It was about 1am this past Friday, 11/10, that I hit the ground running. With a suitcase loaded-up car, I threw it in drive and hit I-95 solo. I drove through the night with nothing but my thoughts. Even though my heart was heavy, it was oddly comforting... I checked in with my Dad each pit-stop and even sent him my direct location. (Thank you Apple technology.) With every passing hour, I couldn't help but wonder, "would I make it?" The truth is...I didn't  want to. I did not want my mother holding on for me. I did not want her to suffer a second longer than she had too. And I do not believe my soul could handle seeing her in that condition. Over the last few months, we spoke about "that moment." Numerous times. My mother had a different kind of relationship with each person in her life. Ours was special. She was the only one who truly just, got me. Understood me. She knew me. She knew who I was and who I wasn't. And loved me unconditionally. She un...

MOM'S EULOGY

On Friday, November 10th 2017, my mother decided she had enough cancer and she set her soul free. The next 48 hours that followed have been a whirlwind of LOVE. Sadness was present, but love overtook it all...with strength sitting like a cherry on top and unity being the sprinkles. Last night, I took a seat next to my father and watched my sister step up - and I don't just mean to the front of the room. She was like a beautiful Phoenix. A natural leader and forever an inspiration to me, my sister stood at the podium and spoke...... This is the eulogy she wrote, read, and truly blessed us with. With a proud heart I share it with you all: "My mom~ Less than six months ago, my mother walked into my house, ushered me into my backyard and with tears in her eyes, we sat down. I knew what she was going to say before she uttered a word… I just wanted to freeze time… to stop the awful news from coming but I couldn’t and she whispered to me that she had cancer. And we cried and ...

SOL7 ON FACEBOOK

WELCOME TO MY SOL7 BLOG - Welcome friends, family, and those just passing through. My creativity is everything to me, not just for the fun, but I use it as an outlet. Writing, dancing, and painting are just a couple therapeutic tools to name a few. I am a 33 year old free-spirit vegan, puppy mom, wife to a US Marine, and empathetic intuitive. I have recently learned to channel my gifts by incorporating Reiki, crystals, and Tarot cards into my way of living. Earth is my medici ne and my family is my entire world. My husband is without a doubt my Twin Flame and I often struggle finding my footing when he is away. So....I write. I blog daily about our hiking adventures, random paranormal activity, and various dreams that I believe to be messages directly from the Universe. I start each day by giving thanks and gratitude to God, my spirit guides, and ancestors for all the blessings I am experiencing during this human journey. Everything is connected. THANK YOU for following this blog page ...

32

"32" The Universe loves to give me signs to help me along my little Earth journey here and I very much love to receive them. Some days I am flooded with information and other days I feel thirsty, nearly getting a bit demanding. (LOL) The times that the Universe is loud, I take it all in, listen, and remain grateful. Often, passing the information along to others that I think may also enjoy it.... Especially here on the SOL7 blog page! The moments the Universe is kinda quiet,  I let that be time in which I remain quiet too. Songs, names, symbols, dreams, passing conversations, billboards, images, animals, etc...these are all some of the tools that the other realm uses to get my attention and pass along a message that be helpful for that moment, day, or simply to make me smile and feel less lonely. NUMBERS is a big one. I was first introduced to my Spirit Number as 43 about 12 years ago. Since then, I have been able to connect certain numbers with certain meanings or message...

HEADING NORTH

Two days ago my father called with an update on my mother. Only, this call was different. Since diagnosed in May, daily updates are part of the routine. Most often from my sister, sometimes my father, and when she was feeling up to it, my mother could get on the phone and give me the direct update herself. Sometime last week, things took an unexpected turn and my mother landed back inside the walls of a hospital. With the pain increasing and the fatigue complet ely taking over, she has lost the desire to eat and even some times, take a sip of water. Surrounded by love, it is sadly a fair guess that we are close to the end of her time in this realm and I am currently preparing myself to make that long drive to New York. I can honestly say, it would assume that I am going to say "goodbye." But no. I do not believe there is such a thing. As a daughter, I am dreading (and slightly fearful) to see my mother in such a state of deterioration, however, I believe in my heart it ...

SAYING NO

Last week I had a heart to heart chat with one of my girlfriend besties about the choice to say NO. We all have it, but we all don't exercise this right. It is often common to fall into the "people pleasing" trap. It's pure instinct to go with the heard and be one with your tribe, only modern day points at our tribe being society. It is that gravitational pull to not want someone in your world such as a friend, relative, co-worker, boss, or passing acquaintance to b e upset with you in anyway. We dodge the word "No" to avoid judgement, conflict, and/or disappointing someone. Besides, who doesn't want to liked?! Of course we want to be liked. But at what cost? There is a difference between being "liked" by others vs. having other's like what you can do for them. The most important relationship we have is the one with ourselves. Lending a helping hand is a great thing! Selflessness and good deeds are the vibration that lifts this planet u...
